If you are not interested in our 🌅 Sunday Reflection but would like to keep receiving the emails you initially signed up for, Hi Reader Tonight (it's Friday as I write), I'll be sleeping at the airport. Not in an airport hotel - actually in the airport! Whenever I have an early morning flight back to Portugal, I head to the airport late the night before. The alternatives are either leaving around 2am to get public transport to the airport for 4am; or booking a hotel where I'd arrive mid evening and leave about 6 hours later - and I'd be so excited and want to make sure I didn't miss the alarm, I wouldn't sleep, which seems a total waste of money. So I head to the airport the night before. I know it sounds somewhat crazy. But...I absolutely love it! For me, the adventure doesn't begin when the plane takes off. It begins the moment I leave the house. I love the buzz of being in an airport and seeing people setting off in every direction - the excitement and the anticipation is palpable! I often wonder where people are going and what stories they're carrying with them. Some will be travelling towards celebrations, others towards difficulties. Some are going on holiday, others are simply going home. This morning, Phil's 'Phil My Cup' included one of my favourite thoughts: "The way you travel is the way you live." The more I thought about it, the more I realised that's become true for me. Looking back 7 years and more, I spent far too much of life focused on 'arriving'. Setting a goal - working hard - thinking that once I reached the destination, then I could relax and be happy. Nowadays, I still have dreams and goals. Plenty of them! But I've discovered something even better. The journey itself is an adventure! The person you'll become along the way is as valuable as the end result. That's true when I'm travelling to Portugal, and it's true in life too. Some of the most meaningful moments happen along the way: the unexpected conversation, the beautiful view you hadn't planned to stop for, the idea that suddenly appears, the person you meet, the lesson you never saw coming. If we're always rushing to arrive, it's so easy to miss them. So tonight, while most sensible people are tucked up in bed, I'll probably be sitting in a quiet corner of the airport, smiling to myself. Well, in fact, there's usually quite a lot of other people with the same idea, some flying out even earlier than me. Because as far as I'm concerned...the journey has already begun. Let the adventure begin! Perhaps the gentle thought for this week is: How might your life feel different if you enjoyed the journey just as much as the destination? Live as you dream ❤️ Kimberley and Phil PS. As I was packing for Portugal this week, I listened to today's Phil My Cup message and it was about journeys. (Phil My Cup is a free - always - service to brighten your day!) By the time I'd finished listening, I realised he'd also given me the inspiration for this Sunday's Reflection! If you'd like to hear the original message, it's just a couple of minutes long and you can listen to it here: [Listen here]. |

Hi Reader “I know it's become a bit of a standing joke that I've been trying to retire since 2020,” our friend Rebecca said as she was speaking during the closing gathering for the crew at last weekend's Infinite Possibilities Certification Conference. For several years now, she's been gradually handing over the reins of some of her work to a small team of us. This time, though, I think she might actually be serious! She wants more time with her husband and grandchildren, more time to travel...
Hi Reader Last Sunday, my friend Suzi and I found ourselves standing in a narrow cobbled street in the little Portuguese village of Alpedrinha, with sheep and goats streaming past us just inches from our legs. Some of them had VERY large horns. This was Chocalhos, a festival celebrating the ancient tradition of 'transhumance' (totally new word to me) - which means the seasonal movement of livestock from one grazing area to another. For generations, shepherds in this part of Portugal moved...
Hi Reader It's been another week of waiting for test results in our house. Thankfully, Phil is making steady progress following his eye surgery. But just as things began to settle down with him, our 12-year-old Bichon Frise, Joey, became unwell. He stopped eating, was barely drinking and couldn't keep anything down. Joey has had some liver problems for the past couple of years, so inevitably our minds began going to the place we didn't want them to go. Was this the beginning of the end? We...
